At MYSS Swim Camp this Summer  for campers ages 3 and up! Miss Yvonne Swim School has been teaching young people to swim since it’s founding in 2002, serving over 200 students each year. Let us teach your child about the benefits of swimming!

Letter from Miss Yvonne

After learning to swim at the late age of 15, I became certified as a Water Safety Instructor (American Red Cross WSI Certified) and Lifeguard (American Red Cross CPR, First Aid & AED certified). Since 2004 I have taught children’s group & private swim lessons and coached swim team. As an undergraduate at Stevens Institute of Technology, I swam on the varsity team. Having completed a Masters in Physical Education in 2013, I am a licensed teacher by the State of NJ. Also, I am a Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor, which I integrate into class, encouraging children to love exercise by swimming!

I am also certified as a Lifeguard Instructor (American Red Cross LGI certificate). Our team is very excited to share our love of swimming and having fun in the water safely with your child. Our camp will immerse your child in programming that will be led by Teacher Counselors and together we can create memories and foundations that will last a lifetime becoming strong, safe, happy swimmers together!

Every child learns at their own pace given their past experiences or lack of experience in and around water. We recommend that you stagger you weeks consecutive for the most optimal results. We believe in our program so strongly that if you sign up for 3 consecutive weeks and your child does not learn how to swim by the end of the 3 weeks, we will give you your money back.

A typical group has 4 campers to 1 Teacher Counselor.

A typical day at Miss Yvonne Swim School camp day runs from 8:30am – 4:00pm. For the Teaneck location, bus pick-ups start around 7:50am in Jersey City and drop offs will start in the Hoboken around 4:30pm.  Each day we take the campers through a carefully balanced schedule of our key areas: 2 swim lessons, sports, arts & crafts(Mon-Th), science experiments(Fri), and free time.

We allow campers aged 3 and up to join us at camp. They must be potty trained.

Campers need to be at Camp no later than 8:30am as swimming is our first activity in the day and they don’t want to miss swim instruction. There is no dropping off at our Secaucus location, all campers must be bussed in for the camp day there.

Our campers are mainly from the Hudson and Bergen County areas.

No, this site is drop off and pick up on site only. If you are looking for a bus service experience, our Secaucus location does offer bus servicing Hoboken, Jersey City & Weehawken this summer. The bus will be picking up in the area between 8:00am-8:20am, dropping off between 4:30-5pm and is COMPLIMENTARY.

We have several requests, please email us with your information(town and weeks you're looking to send your camper) and we will connect you with other parents who are interested in carpooling.

MYSS Camp in Hoboken has been carefully chosen with inclement weather in mind. We are excited to share that it does have indoor space for us to use and facilitate rainy day activities. Campers will still have swim instruction on rainy days; in case of a lightning storm, there will be no swimming instruction for 30 minutes after lightning strikes to ensure the safety of all participants.

We provide all their swimming gear: goggles, cap, swim bubble, & swim bag(on Monday and send home on Friday). You will need to pack 2 bathing suits, your MYSS towel(we provide on Monday to new campers), sunblock, an additional set of clothes for emergencies in addition to what they wear to camp in the morning, lunch, refillable water bottle(we provide on Monday) and 2 snacks.

Please help us stay nut-free, here are some suggestions: Lunch: sandwiches (sunflower seed with honey) cold pasta salads quesadillas with cheese and beans hummus sandwiches with sliced cucumbers turkey/cheese roll ups Snacks: sliced veggies: bell peppers, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, carrots fruit (clementines, grapes, bananas, apples) with cheese stick granola bars apple sauce / squeeze pouches dried fruit & seed mixture (pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds) muffins.

At the end of the week, campers will receive a short progress report from Miss Yvonne Swim School via email. We will also make every effort to send a video with swimming lesson footage of your swimmer in action!

The Teacher Counselors are patient, friendly, warm and caring. TC’s have been trained on how to deal with difficult situations during transition and adjustment to camp. Being that we have a small 4:1 camper to TC ratio, this allows us to closely monitor group dynamics during camp.

Miss Yvonne Swim School is a learn-to-swim camp where campers will make friends and memories for a lifetime! Parents may request that 1 friend be placed in the same group at their child. Refer a friends and receive a $50 credit good towards any additional MYSS programming.

Space is limited, please register early to reserve your spot!

We would love to hear from you! Check out our website at: www.missyvonneswimschool.com to read more. Please send us an email at MissYvonneSwimSchool@gmail.com or call us at 201.600.4640 with any questions. We reply to all emails within 48 hours or less.

Delivering the Camp experience requires Camp to incur numerous irreversible spending decisions many months before the summer begins. The Camp makes these irreversible spending decisions based on the number of Campers enrolled and in reliance on each Camper maintaining (i.e., not cancelling) their enrollment and not leaving Camp early. Moreover, holding a space for a Camper may result in turning away other Campers throughout the year.

For these reasons, parents acknowledge and agree to the following refund policy:
A. If a cancellation occurs on or after the first day of February preceding the relevant Camp season, no refund will be given.
B. If a cancellation is received prior to the last day of January preceding the relevant Camp season, the Camp will issue a full refund.
C. As set forth above, if the Camper is dismissed from Camp for a disciplinary reason or leaves early for any other reason (including emotional, a medical reason, etc.), no refund will be given.
