Hoboken – Semi-Private Classes

Summer Session I runs Tuesdays & Thursdays June 21 – July 22

Semi-Private Classes. The following consecutive week that the class is hosted will be a make up, break between sessions or can be paid for as a single semi-private class so there are no breaks in between sessions. One makeup class will be permitted for each session. Classes take place at Xcel Athletic Lifestyle 125 Marshall St, 7th Fl, Hoboken on Tues & Thurs.

Tuesdays: June 22 – July 20, *make up day July 27*

In this class, swimmer must be able to keep their head in the water for 2-3 strokes and come up for a breath, for 3 to 4 body lengths unassisted to join this class. We will work on getting the swimmers to propel themselves independently with good freestyle form and rhythmic breathing, rotary breathing for at least 15 yards. Treading water and standing dives will also be introduced. Equipment required*

In this class, “beginner“ Tadpole skills are already mastered. With 2 swim floats of assistance, we will work on getting the swimmers to propel themselves independently in the water, head in the water for 2-3 strokes and then take a breath. Equipment required*

This class is for the person who is unable to swim unassisted. The fundamentals of swimming will be covered in this class, getting over fears and gaining confidence in the water, putting head in the water, floating, combining arm and leg movement. Equipment required*

In this class we will cover a range of skills: learning water safety with your child, how to initiate swimming, developing social skills, and having a fun time with songs! Classes are inspired by a passion for swimming and creativity.

At this level, students will learn to swim breaststroke. All skills introduced in the previous levels must be mastered. They will also improve their freestyle and backstroke endurance. Equipment required*

Longer freestyle distance (to 50 yards) is the focus along with improving their backstroke endurance(to 25 yards). Entering the pool from a dive will also be introduced.
