Miss Yvonne

Swimming has always been important to me: After learning to swim at the late age of 15, I became certified as a Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard soon after. Since 2002 I have taught people of all ages swim lessons, also coached Gators Swim Team. I graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology, where I swam on the varsity team. I completed a Masters in Physical Education and am a licensed teacher by the state of NJ. Also I am a Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor, which I integrate into class, encouraging children to love exercise by swimming!

Estephanie, Camp Assistant Director

I have worked with Miss Yvonne Swim School since Summer 2016 as a Teacher Counselor and Concierge Swim Lesson Instructor, and a Camp Director Assistant.

I am a certified Elementary School Teacher. Throughout the school year, I am a third-grade teacher. In my free time, I love playing soccer and enjoy watching soccer games with my family. My favorite thing about teaching swimming is watching students’ progression and confidence grow. Sometimes children may come into swimming lessons with predisposed fears regarding water. As they get stronger and stronger, watching them turn into fishes that never want to leave the water fills my heart.

Coach Joe, Camp Teacher Counselor

I have been working with children since I was a child. I began as a camp counselor at the age of 16 and guided 1st through 3rd graders in daily outdoor activities. Later on, I became a driving instructor and taught the six-hour behind the wheel lessons for kids attaining their drivers permit. This inspired me to further my education and become an elementary teacher.

My greatest accomplishment was becoming a United States Marine in 2000 and I keep all the principles I learned with me in classroom management and my daily life.
